Motherlode - Pathways For Anxiety in Pregnancy
We know that becoming a mother is a journey that isn’t always easy. Challenges from our own childhood, worries about pregnancy, low mood, anxiety, and a long pandemic can all make becoming a mom seem overwhelming. SCBP invites you to explore the mental work of becoming a mom in a safe and supportive group. My name is Lori Wolfe (Family Nurse Practitioner) and I will each be leading this group.
Each Motherlode group will have about 10 participants, and meet over Zoom weekly for 6 sessions. In the sessions, we will use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, self-care, breathing exercises, mindfulness techniques, group discussions and small homework assignments to try and reduce anxiety and stress around becoming a new mom. We have been running these groups for a few years now, and believe that just getting pregnant women together to discuss issues and concerns around pregnancy can be very helpful.
We try to make Motherlode accessible by offering it at a low price of $150 total per participant, payable prior to the start of sessions at the front desk, or by phone. We ask that you plan to attend all 6 sessions, though understand that illness, work or vacation plans may mean you miss a session.
If you are interested, please email office@scbp.ca and we will place you on the waitlist.
