Pregnant people can self-refer to the SCBP and do not need a doctor’s referral. The program is open to all residents living in Vancouver, BC who have an active BC Medical Services card for the entire duration of pregnancy and the postpartum period.
We are a collaborative care practice blended with general practitioners and midwives (if you need to be referred to an OB specialist, we will triage you accordingly). We assign your care team and this is based on your due date and availability. We are not exclusively a midwifery team. All deliveries take place at BC Women’s Hospital.
If you would like to register with the program:
Step 1: Please read the above information and check out our FAQ page here: https://www.scbp.ca/about-us/faq
Step 3: We will email or call you with instructions to set up an information call with our Intake Coordinator within 2-5 business days. We will discuss the program and your application, answer any questions and proceed with registration. This generally takes approximately 15-20 minutes and is all completed over the phone. THE CALLER ID WILL SAY SOUTH OFFICE.
*If we have not heard back from you within two weeks we will remove your application. If you do not hear from us please call the clinic: 604-324-2201 ext. 1 to speak with our administration team.
