How To Register

You can self-refer to the SCBP; you do not need a doctor's referral. The program is open to all residents living in the greater Vancouver area, who have an active BC Medical Services card for the entire duration of pregnancy and the postpartum period.

We are a collaborative care practice with family doctors, midwives, nurse practitioners, and nurses sharing your care. We will refer you to an Obstetrician or Pediatrician, if needed. We assign you a small prenatal care team based on your due date and whether you are in group care. The family physicians and midwives sharing an on-call rotation will attend you during the birth; all deliveries take place at BC Women's Hospital (we do not provide home birth). Postpartum care appointments are completed in our clinic by a team of nurses/breastfeeding experts. We also have a lactation consult for difficult breastfeeding challenges. We do not provide postpartum home visits.
