Bruna Almeida
Registered Midwife
Hi there! I’m Bruna, and I’m so happy to finally introduce myself to you all. I was born and raised in a small, beautiful town in Brazil called Piracicaba. Growing up in such a close-knit community taught me the importance of family, connection, and always looking out for one another.
I started my journey in healthcare back in 2008 when I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in Brazil. I was fascinated by how the human body works, so I went on to get my Master’s in Physiology in 2013. Around the same time, I also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Cardiovascular Perfusion—because why not, right? I was just so eager to learn everything I could!
But life had more in store for me. I moved to Canada, and in 2016, I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Care Leadership. That was a game-changer for me, helping me see the bigger picture of healthcare. Eventually, I found my true passion in midwifery, and I completed my Bachelor of Health Sciences in Midwifery. I couldn’t be happier with where I’ve ended up!
For me, midwifery isn’t just a job—it’s something I’m deeply committed to. As an Afro-Brazilian and a proud member of the BIPOC community here in Canada, I know firsthand how important it is to understand and address the unique challenges we face. My passion lies at the intersection of health science and the social factors that shape our lives. I’m always learning, researching, and sharing what I know, all with the goal of providing the best care possible to my clients and community.
Midwifery is so much more than just helping bring babies into the world. It’s about empowering families, supporting women through every step of their reproductive journey, and making sure everyone has access to the care they deserve. I want to be that source of strength, knowledge, and kindness for every family I work with.”
I’m so excited to share this journey with you and to make a positive impact in as many lives as I can. I can’t wait to connect with you more!
