I am originally from the Interior of BC, but moved to Vancouver to attend university. I originally studied History and International Relations. After my BA I pursued a BEd in elementary education. Upon graduation I wanted to travel the world. I spent a year teaching in Guadalajara, Mexico, during which time I travelled the country and fell in love with the people and the food. After my year there I decided it was time to explore Europe, and I moved to London, England. I spent 3 years teaching in an inner city school and travelling at every opportunity. It was there I met my husband, and we decided to settle here in beautiful Vancouver. We have been here ever since, though we still love to travel as much as possible. After the birth of my oldest daughter in 2009, I decided I wanted to pursue a career as a registered nurse, intent on becoming a perinatal nurse. I graduated from UBC in 2012 and started working at BC Women’s Hospital. I was lucky enough to become a part of the amazing team at South this past September. I am a mother to 2 amazing little girls. I enjoy good food and wine, cooking, baking, running and travelling. I have a keen interest in maternal child health, and plan to pursue a master’s in global health policy.
