I am originally from Vancouver, but did most of my growing up in the Fraser Valley (yes…the bible belt!). I attended UVIC for my first degree in Art History and loved every second of living on Vancouver Island. After graduation I left Canada for Asia. I spent a total of 4 years teaching in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan…somewhere in there I came back to Victoria where I married a pretty cool guy, traveled all around South East Asia, and got pregnant with twins. When my girls were 10 months old I decided my life wasn’t crazy enough so I applied and got into nursing school at UBC. I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2010. I spent a few months post graduation on the cardiac unit at St. Paul’s, but where I really wanted to be was BC Women’s hospital. I was hired there in January 2011 and spent 6 wonderful years there as a full time labour and delivery nurse. I’m thrilled to have recently joined all the cool kids at South Community. You can still find me working with labouring families at Women’s, but the majority of my time is now spent at SCBP…the best of both worlds!
