Jessica Hamm

4th Year Midwifery Student | UBC Midwifery Program

Jessica looks forward to experiencing the fourth and final year of her midwifery education at the South Community Birth Program.

Through her previous work as an art therapist and infant development consultant, she has come to see her strengths as connecting with, advocating for, and supporting the choices of parents. As a new doula, Jessica witnessed a baby born into a midwife’s outstretched hands and knew that she wanted to apply these strengths to midwifery. These past 3 years of learning have affirmed her passion for this work.

When she is not living the student midwife life, you’ll find her curled up with a book, laughing with friends, and enjoying the beauty of the west coast.

Jessica grew up in the lower mainland and calls Vancouver home. She is excited for the opportunity to be learning and caring in the community. She thanks everyone for welcoming her to the South Community Birth Program and for being a part of and sharing this life-changing time with the clients in SCBP’s care!
